Frédéric Vivien
Permanent researcher at INRIA working in the ROMA project-team.
Research
My field of research is the definition and analysis of algorithms
for the efficient execution of scientific
computing applications on parallel computing platforms. I have a
special interest in scheduling strategies and often focus on the efficient
usage of resources (reduced memory usage, energy consumption,
etc.). A significant part of my work deal with
resilient approaches for large-scale platforms.

Previous positions
From September 1998 until August 2002, I was permanent assistant
professor (maître de conférences) for the University Louis
Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. There, I worked in the team : ICPS : Image and Scientific Parallel
Computing (Image et Calcul Parallèle Scientifique) of the
LSIIT laboratory
(Laboratoire des Sciences de l'Image, de l'Informatique et de la
Télédétection).
From January 2000 until December 2000, I worked in the Computer Architecture Group
(CAG) at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology's Laboratory for
Computer Science. I was working in Martin Rinard's team.
